SALVADOR DALI

More than 150 different subjects published in twenty-five years

Pierre (1910-2001) and Geneviève (1924-2020) ARGILLET met Salvador DALI (1904-1989) in 1959, to order one illustration for their first art book. Finally, their exceptional contact and complicity with him, led the Artist to engrave more than 150 different subjects for them in the space of twenty-five years, thus placing them at the forefront of the Dali’s prints publishers. The couple ARGILLET then founded the GALERIE FURSTENBERG in 1971, in order to present and sale these editions to the public. With the undisputed master of Surrealism, they published only original copper engravings because they always wanted the matrices (in this case copper plates) to be all made by the hand of the artist (which was not the case for Dali’s  lithographs). You will discover through this website the details of this long and rich collaboration.
